Summer Blast

Welcome Summer! Guess what? The Syracuse Library Foundation is hosting Summer Blast. Ever hear of Bright Lights in Lincoln? We have partnered with Bright Lights in Lincoln to develop the Summer Blast program - a group of classes that take learning beyond the classroom by providing youth with unique, motivating hands-on learning opportunities. Classes are designed to fun, engaging, and geared to incorporate science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Additionally, creative thinking, collaboration, experimentation, and exploration will also be emphasized as important parts of the learning process. How about the class "Disgusting Science" or "Fishing Adventures"? Maybe you're interested in "Cupcake Wars" or "LEGO Robotics". Classes will run June 12-16 from 9:00-12:00 and July 17-21 9:00-12:00. "Disgusting Science" will run from June 12-16 from 1:00-4:00. Classes will take place at the Syracuse Middle School. Come join the fun!

Summer Reading

Get ready for a Summer full of reading fun! Register for the Public Library's Summer Reading Program beginning Tuesday, July 11th, 18th, and 25th from 1:00-2:30. "Build a Better Word" is the theme for this year's statewide Summer Program. Did you know children who don't read during the summer typically lose 1-3 months of reading achievement?

Help your children continue their enjoyment of books during the summer by bring them to our library programs! This program is targeted for K-5th grade. Sponsored by the Syracuse Friends of the Library.
