The opportunities are endless at the Syracuse Public Library! Read a book, work on the computer, or enjoy coffee by the fireplace. The Syracuse Public Library offers free use of all books, audiobooks, DVDs, and computer usage. We have something for everyone: small and large print books, audiobooks, DVDs, and young adult, teen, and children’s books. We also have classes and in-library projects available throughout the year. Our updated children’s area now includes STEM, arts and crafts, board games, and many more things to enjoy with friends and family.

MEETING ROOM RENTAL
Having a meeting or event? The Syracuse Public Library has a meeting room that will accommodate 72 people. A projector and kitchen are also available for use.

How can you help? Donate. Here’s how:
Syracuse Public Library-
Money donated to the library directly goes directly to the use of Director for programming, Storytime activities, memorials, after-school programming, book clubs, and many more opportunities, as set by the Director.
To Donate to the library directly make checks payable to the “Syracuse Public Library” and bring them directly to the library or city hall.
Syracuse Friends of the Library-
This group consists of community members who believe that a good library is essential to the economic well-being of our community. They help promote and publicize library services, activities, and Children’s reading programs, and offer special guest speakers to the adult community at low or no cost to community members. The Library Foundation Board
Provides upkeep of the library and supports our summer blast reading programming. They also provide scholarships and project help though out the community. The Syracuse Library Foundation continues to accept donations for those items and projects that are not a part of the City’s library budget.

The library board of trustees meets on the first Monday of a chosen month.

Programs Offered
Pre-School Storytime
This program is designed for children ages 3–5. During Storytime, we’ll enjoy stories, music, and simple crafts together.
Storytime is held once a month from September through April, with additional Summer Storytimes available. Dates and times may vary. Please contact the library or visit our Facebook page to follow Storytime and see the most up-to-date schedule.
If school is closed on a scheduled Storytime day, Storytime will also be canceled.
If you are new to the program, please stop by the library to get a library card for your child and sign them up. Pre-registration is not required, but it helps us prepare enough crafts for everyone.
Summer Reading Program:
The Summer Reading Program is free for all members of our library community! It is designed for youth ages 6–17, with something for everyone.
Participants will be introduced to new books, engaging storytellers, and a variety of fun activities throughout the summer.
Summer Reading begins the Wednesday after Memorial Day and runs through the first week of August.

Book Club for Adults: The library offers book clubs that meet each month at their own discretion. Each books club has limited membership to ensure quality conversation.
Notice
Any District 27 taxpayer and his dependents shall be allowed the privilege of checking out all materials from the public library, upon registering for a borrower’s card. A library card is non-transferable. The use of the library or its services may be denied temporarily for due cause. Due cause includes failure to return books or other materials, failure to pay fines, and objectionable conduct on library premises as determined by the librarian and their staff.
Members outside of the district will be required to pay a yearly $30 fee for the use of the library and its materials.
