Live in Syracuse and you will experience a thriving and growing community of 1,942 residents. One reason this area is growing is because we are ideally located at HWY 2 & HWY 50, in-between Lincoln (30 miles) and Nebraska City (20 miles), just 50 miles south of Omaha. It is the best of both worlds… to live in a small-town atmosphere, yet have an easy commute to work in the city.

We also have more than 120 businesses right here in Syracuse, which means work is just minutes away for those who live and work in town. We have two grocery stores, four banks, four attorneys, two dentists, one optometrist, two veterinarians, one accounting firm, two real estate agencies, several restaurants, a new middle school facility, and so much more.

Syracuse is fortunate to have its own critical access facility, Community Memorial Hospital. This 18-bed facility, also offers excellent out-patient services such as a medical clinic, fitness center, physical therapy, CT scanner, digital mammography, Dexa Scanner, respiratory therapy, home health care and more.

Next to the hospital is the 88-bed Good Samaritan Society skilled nursing facility. The Good Samaritan campus also includes a 36-unit assisted living center and a children’s daycare center. Syracuse offers a caring environment for people of all ages!

A wide range of affordable housing, both public and private, is available to meet your financial needs! Syracuse is a clean place to live and its residents have a lot of community pride!
