What is Syracuse Chapter of Dollars for Scholars?

Syracuse Foundation, Inc. Dollars for Scholars is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) organization that provides academic financial assistance to seniors graduating from Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca High School.

Established to help deserving area youth pursue higher education, the Syracuse Chapter has awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships since its inception in 2003!

Dollars for Scholars chapters like ours help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year.

The Syracuse Dollars for Scholars provides an effective way for a community to work together to assist local students in achieving their educational goals.  Our chapter encourages students by sending a message that the community believes in them.

Matching Grants

With your donation, the Syracuse Dollars for Scholars can apply for various matching grants that will allow the amount awarded to nearly double upon approval of the grant.

Charitable Donation

The Syracuse Scholarship Fund has established a 501(c) (3) status. Contributions are tax-deductible.

Scholarship Distribution

Syracuse Dollars for Scholars provides a way for scholarships to be coordinated and distributed. The result is a single application process with more resources reaching more students. Individual donors or organizations continue to be recognized for their contribution to a community-wide scholarship effort.
