City of Syracuse Update 5/26/2021
Due to the construction on our new pool house there will be a delay in opening the pool this season. Water will be put into the pool on June 7th. It is our assumption that we will open approximately 2 weeks after. We are at the good graces of DHHS and the construction site as to when we can truly open the doors to public swimming. At this time, no swim lessons will be offered until we know a firm opening date.
HOURS FOR PUBLIC SWIM
Sunday-Friday –1:00- 5:00 pm & 6:00-8:00 pm
Saturday – 1:00-6:00 pm
Lap Swim: $1.50 per visit. Mon.-Fri. 5-6 p.m. and Mon.-Fri. 12:15-1:00 p.m. Kick-boards will be available upon request. NO lap swim is available on weekends.
Public Swim Lessons: DUE TO DELAY IN OPENING POOL-DATES TBA Month of June M-Th (see list under swim lessons) Classes subject to change due to availability. $35 (4) 45min. sessions. Swim lesson times: 10:15-11am; 11:15-12pm; 5-5:45pm. Refunds only applied to cancellations that cannot be made up by the city due to pool scheduling conflict. ((majority of rain dates will be on a Friday)) Scheduling MUST be done at the City Hall by emailing email@example.com or calling 402-269-2173 M-Th
Private Swim Lessons: July-August with a trained swim instructor. No refunds will be given. Please contact (402)269-8814 during normal pool hours and schedule with a certified swim instructor.
POOL PARTIES can be booked on Saturday’s only from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m and Sunday’s from 10:30 am-12:30 pm. $150 flat rate to be paid in advance. Contact City Hall for more information & to book!! – 402-269-2173 (NO pool parties to be booked by guards)
Pool will close for the season after August 22nd.
Pool passes will be available for purchase at the AquaCenter as of May 26th.

Class size is limited to ensure quality instruction for your child!! In scheduling lessons, remember our pool is heated. We may add or change classes upon demand!!
Payment will need to be made 10 days prior to first class to guarantee your spot.

PRIVATE LESSONS: $15/half hour. Staff must have gone through a minimum of one full week instruction by a certified instructor prior to be approved to give swim lessons privately at the Syracuse pool.
Aqua Lessons – Classes & Descriptions
Aqua Babies: 0-2 years old
Mommy & Me Class where you swim with your child. ($30 extra to get a lifeguard to be with your child the entire time.) Bubbles are used with participants. Learn to control bubble through games and laps. If the child is young, they may need to go through this class more than once. Zero depth and shallow water.
Aqua Kids: 3-5 year olds
Bubbles are used with participants. Control bubble and start letting air out. If the child is young, they may need to go through this class more than once. Child will learn to swim width of pool with minimal bubble before moving to level 1. Zero depth and shallow water. Parents may be asked to leave if the child is not focused on lessons with parents in sight.
Level 1/2 Exploring the Water & Water Skills: Ages Vary
Bubble may be used. Begin floating and kicking with and without support. Primary water skills. Submerged and holding breath. Shallow water.
Level 3 Stroke Readiness: Ages Vary
Arm and leg actions with strokes. Treading water. Class is in 5 feet of water.
Level 4/5 Stroke Development & Refinement: Ages Vary
Demonstrate all strokes for width & length of pool. Diving off sides. Deep end & length of pool.
Advanced Lessons: Ages Vary
Demonstrate all strokes for length of pool. Skills proficiency. Prolonged swimming & exercise with all strokes. Various dives. Diving from boards. Swim teem level swimming. Deep end.
